Kumyang is a representative high-tech material innovation company that is diversifying its business into new future energy industries such as rechargeable batteries and hydrogen fuel cells through continuous R&D.
At the 3rd Emergency Economic Measures Meeting in April, Ryu Gwang-ji, CEO of Geumyang, proposed the joint construction of the hydrogen high-tech industry center to Busan City, and Mayor Park visited the company directly to discuss public-private collaboration.
At this event, Kumyang announced plans to build a hydrogen high-tech industry center and use it as a hydrogen fuel cell research and development platform by integrating small and medium-sized venture companies and research institutes specializing in hydrogen.
Accordingly, the city of Busan promised not only to provide administrative support for the establishment of the center, but also to actively strive for joint R&D and technical support for related companies for the development of the hydrogen industry.
Mayor Park said, “Carbon neutrality is a global agenda, and hydrogen energy will be an important alternative at the center of it. Let’s work together to make this happen.”
After that, Mayor Park visited the Advanced Shoe Convergence Hub Center to check the operation status and encouraged related workers, including resident companies.
The High-tech Shoe Convergence Hub Center, which opened in July 2019 for the revival of the Busan footwear industry, is an outpost for the advancement of the footwear industry.
Manufacturing, marketing, R&D, and start-up are actively carried out within the center, and many companies including offshore companies are flooding with inquiries about moving in.
The intelligent shoe factory, which was selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and is being built, presents the future direction of the footwear industry through research and development of core shoe manufacturing technologies and the introduction of advanced equipment.
Mayor Park said, “In the manufacturing industry, we need to develop innovative capabilities through digital technology and convergence.
