MANAGER - DIRECT SHIP, GROWTH & PERFORMANCE

Purpose: This position is responsible for direct ship business growth, process optimization, cost and performance improvement for inbound transportation of directs and dedicated.

Key Responsibilities: 

•    Establish and document end to end business process (strategic & operational) to ensure on time delivery at the DCs.
•    Analyze the “as-is” state, recommend “best in class” future state, and identify what is needed to bridge the gap between the current and the future state.
•    Ensure efficient and effective reporting is in place to support the inbound transportation team’s business objectives. Assess the reporting needs of the business, implement necessary reports to provide visibility to the leadership team and improve/automate current reports.
•    Responsible for working directly with cross-functional groups such as Order Fulfillment, Inbound Planning, DC Operations, carriers, and analytics teams.
•    Identifying trends and root cause, developing operational strategies, providing visibility and summarizing business performance to senior leadership will be some of the ways this role will drive impact within the organization.
•    Establish the follow up of official KPIs of the business and create awareness within the organization.

Key Relationships:  
•    Internally: Order Fulfillment, Inbound Planning, Account Operations, Sales, Reporting and Analytics.
•    Externally:  Carriers, 3PLs, 4PLs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 
•    Ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and to problem solve for solutions. In addition, possess a combination of out of the box thinking and a willingness to question status quo and generally accepted beliefs
•    Excellent analysis, data management and reporting skills with demonstrated ability to organize data and prepare reports in a logical manner
•    Attention to detail and ability to navigate systems to obtain data required.
•    Strong project management skills.
•    Knowledge of transportation and supply chain processes.
•    A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Access, and Tableau.
•    A consensus building, upbeat team contributor that can function as a future manager.
•    Ability to take ownership for a project, prioritizes effectively, and ultimately drives the project through to completion.
•    Self-motivated, high energy that can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment.
•    Comfortable working with cross-functional teams across multiple businesses.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both formal and informal communications.
•    Must have strong verbal and presentation skills; to conduct meetings and make presentations to direct manager and project teams.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  
•    MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred; Minimum of B.S. in Business Analytics/Engineering.
•    Six Sigma and PMP certification preferred.
•    4-5 years of experience in process improvement/business process mapping.
